- Doctorat à l'Académie des sciences de la République Tchécoslovaque (Prague). - Economiste en chef de la Komerchni Banca, professeur à l'université économique de Prague. Main field of work : Macroeconomic theory, consumption theory, macroeconomic and social analysis, analysis of the Czech transformation process, analysis and forecasts of the Czech and world economy. Following the studies in France, ample experience with organising and elaborating economic and econometric analyses of Czechoslovak and Czech economy in the late 1960s, early 1970s, and from the start of transformation in 1990. The results were regularly published. Author (or co-author) of 17 books, 70 research studies and more than 130 articles in Czech and foreign journals. Rich professional international contacts. Regular co-operation with IMF and World Bank. Personal research grant form the NATO in 1991-1992. Participation in EU-ACE grants organised by the Leuwen University (1992-94), by Leicester University (1993-94), Economic Commission for Europe (1993-94), ILO and others. Two-month professional stay at the Bank of Finland in 1992. Representative of Komerční banka in the Institute of International Finance in Washington. Member (from 1999) of the International Conference of Commercial Bank Economists (organisation of 25 Chief Economists of leading world banks), of the scientific council of the Prague University of Economics, of the editorial board of Politická ekonomie and Prague Economic Papers. Member of the presidium of Czech Economic Society. President, Business Leaders Forum, Czech Republic. Numerous invited lectures abroad.
